PE & Sport offers opportunities to cultivate communication and leadership skills, to work as part of a team, and to develop resilience by learning to meet success and failure head-on. Most importantly, participation in sport is an excellent way to improve health and wellbeing. It helps all our pupils to learn to take responsibility for themselves, setting them up for later life by teaching them the importance of maintaining a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
At Dale Hall Community Primary we believe that children should develop both academically and socially to the best of their ability. It is our belief that participating in sport adds value to the lives of those in our community. The skills and lessons learned in winning, losing and taking part provides an enriching experience that are incomparable to others. In addition to these experiences, we learn about building relationships and problem solving- all key aspects of being ‘life ready’.
To facilitate this, we offer a broad and balanced curriculum designed to fall in line with the sporting competition calendar created in partnership with our school games organisers. Therefore our PE lessons work progressively to develop subject specific skills needed to compete against other schools. Currently competition fixtures are organised from years 2 -6.
To support this we also offer a wide range of sporting activities, as well as lunch time and extra-curricular clubs.
Mr Hatcher
PE Lead
Hi everyone,
I am in my third year as the PE leader, having been a classroom based teacher for 5 years. My role consists of providing and ensuring the children receive exciting high quality physical education lessons, facilitating sporting fixtures, and organising tournaments across all key stages. As well as this, I am also the Health and Activities Leader and therefore will be providing an array of lunchtime and after school clubs for the children to enjoy, organising sporting trips and also equipping the children with the knowledge they need in order to live a healthy balanced lifestyle.

1) Discuss and enjoy PE together
2) Practice at home where possible
3) Celebrate your child's achievements
4) Encourage your child to join a school lunchtime or after school club
Take advantage of the free lunchtime and after school clubs the school is offering. The timetable can be found on the Class Dojo School Story.
5) Join a local club
Use Families online website to find clubs around the area.
Why not take advantage of Inspire Suffolk's Turn up and play offer?
These sessions are completely funded which allow us to offer free sport and activities to local young children. Turn Up & Play has a fun and relaxed atmosphere where young people are provided with the platform to develop their social and physical skills.
